I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (which I originally featured in this post), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also worn them enough now that grey goose shoes I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a variety of other factors about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Where did you score your pair?

I grabbed mine from Cettire when they had a limited-time deal going on.

I ordered them on the 28th of April and they were delivered by April 30th, so the shipping was really quick .

What’s the going rate?

When I grabbed my pair in spring, I paid around $385, but their full price is $513.91.

You can expect to pay between $410 and $1,700 depending on their uniqueness.

How does the sizing run?

I found them to fit true to size, at least for me.

Since they don’t stretch and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d choose the larger option.

How comfy are they?

They felt good almost immediately. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since they help with airflow. They’re made with real Italian leather, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in fake leather. Bonus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.

How durable are they?

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and I’m impressed with the durability. No glitter has fallen off, and the shape stayed solid. Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.

How are they vs. other brands?

Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They have a hidden arch lift that adds just over an inch — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is unique. And the shine on mine? Stunning.

Would you recommend them?

Yes! But I’d recommend waiting for a sale. They cost a lot, so getting them discounted is a better idea. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. Mine have pink glitter, but a neutral version would also go with everything.

They’re true to size in my experience, at least for me. They haven’t stretched noticeably, so if you’re in the middle, I’d go up

They’re extremely comfortable, and only took a few hours to break in.

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over the city, and they still look great. Nothing has torn, and the leather hasn’t stretched.

Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
